ANA Crowne Plaza Nagasaki Gloverhill
A taxi from the railway station to the hotel costs ¥900/1000 and should take less than 10 minutes. The very helpful information desk at the station will write down in Japanese the address of the hotel to give to the taxi driver. From the airport, the Limousine bus costs ¥800 (¥1200 return; half for children) and the journey, depending on traffic, lasts around 50 to 60 minutes; as an alternative, a typical 35 minute taxi ride costs ¥9,560 plus toll charges. The nearest tram station is about 2 minutes away and the flat fare of ¥110 will take you as far as the Atomic Bomb Museum and Peace Park on the other side of the city. Day tickets for the trams can be purchased from Reception for ¥500.
The location, near the waterfront, is perfect for some of the major tourist attractions of the city: right behind the hotel is Glover Gardens from where you get a panoramic view of the city. In the same area, a few minutes' walk apart, you can visit the Oura Catholic Church and the Confucius Shrine and Museum.
There some convenience stores nearby, and a couple of restaurants including an expensive Chinese, and a reasonably priced one across the main road, if you want to avoid the hotel.
Excellent comfortable well-sized rooms on the refurbished higher floors.
